Opinion I would like to use this page to express my opinion about something. I have noticed over the past couple of years, or at least the time that I have been paying attention, that when a person purchases a new bike (whatever make or model) one of the first things they purchase is a new after-market seat. Here is where my opinion comes in. Because most of my work is on Harley Davidson I'm going to use them. Harley has for the most part engineered a good seat, they fit and are generally comfortable. Some in my opinion are too plain, too big and fat, or just plain ugly. So I understand somewhat why people run out to get a better looking after-market seat. In my time working with customers, I have taken a stock seat and sewn the cover up a little different, changed the color of the seat, changed the grain of the material, or reshaped the foam. This can transform a stock seat into a custom seat that you know will fit, look nothing like stock and really accent your bike, generally for about half the cost of the average after-market seat. There are some good looking after-market seats out there and there is some junk. When you want to throw away your stock seat and buy a new after-market seat, go find a good seat man and talk with them about doing something with your stock seat before you just run out to purchase an after-market seat. I think you will be surprised what a talented seat man can do for you. Thanks for reading my opinion and I hope this gives you something to think about. If I can help in any way please get in touch with me. Thanks, Eric. Phone # 803-629-7014 mail to: eric@ericscustomcycleseats.com Copyright © 2008Eric's Custom Cycle Seats. All rights reserved. |
